Make sure you have the micro hdmi -> acceptable hdmi adapter : Motorola HD Station with Rapid Wall Charger for DROID BIONIC - Charger - Retail Packaging - Black
I had to buy a 30 dollar micro Hdmi cable a while back to narrate a kodak Hd handheld camcorder's yield (mil 810 construction). That Same cable enables my droid to hook to my Hp 25.5" 1920x1200 pixel display. I took a photo of what you get on the docktop display - it's like a linux principles with 2 displays comming out one port.
The docktop is probably the better choice for habitancy who have hdmi displays on hand (forget it and get the economy usb dock if you don't) - you do get 3 usb ports on the video doc, a isolate power input, hdmi passthrough, and even a regenerated audio connector for hooking to stereo speakers - a excellent nightstand phone charger + alarm clock.
The phone has way too many modes to run in when docked - I took a photo of one and will highlihght its features while plugged in. You do have other options and can resize the droids 1/4 Hdmi display.
As for the 3x usbs - I hooked up a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse receiver fob and they worked fine with it.
Finally computers get smaller! Make your buying decision on if you have a colse to hdmi port to plug your phone into while charging at night - bedrooms with hdmi tvs will do fine (extension hdmi may be required depending on distance). No hdmi? buy the usb version and you can keep your droid bionic topped off on fee all night and have a cool alarm clock.
